COA Launched “iFarmer” Website on March 27 Offering On-line Services to Young Generation Farmers

  In response to the government’s policy to integrate on-line to off-line service platform and take advantage of information and communication technology, the Council of Agriculture (COA) announced its plan to incorporate private and government resources to establish the official website "iFarmer" and offer one-stop window of agricultural consultancy. 

  According to COA, the official website (http:// ifarmer.coa.gov.tw) was launched on March 27, integrating crucial initial step information for agriculture in four major facets, including agriculture and food, fishery, animal husbandry, and leisure industries. It also categorized and presented the issues that starters cared most on the website, such as successful farmers’ experiences, industrial characteristics, consultancy service, technical assistance, land requirements, fund demand, transaction quotes, and retail channel. The site is designed to let the users access the desired information easily. To better improve the interaction among users, an exchange platform was also created to stimulate more interaction creativity.

  COA reiterated that based on the needs of industrial development and young farmers, the Council would continue to take necessary measures on iFarmer website for counseling, aiming to enhance innovative concepts, broaden international visions and extend infinite imagination for the young generation. In this way, young farmers could acquire experiences and technique from veteran farmers and jointly cooperate to develop Taiwan’s renowned agriculture and local featured industries, contributing to a new Taiwan’s agriculture.
