The representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Warsaw, Ming-cheng Chen, and the representative of the Warsaw Trade Office in Taipei, Maciej Artur Gaca, respectively signed in Poland and in Taipei a Memorandum of Understanding on establishing a consultation mechanism in the field of agriculture on July 11 of 2017 and on June 21. Through this dialogue mechanism on agricultural cooperation, two sides will exchange and share the information of their experiences in agriculture, the testing methods for agri-food products as well as the veterinary and phytosanitary regulations and will strengthen the multi-faceted cooperation in areas such as agriculture and food safety in the future.

　　The COA stated that Poland is the fourth European country to sign such a memorandum with Taiwan; in the future, Taiwan will combine its outstanding sub-tropical agricultural cultivation techniques and agribusiness management with Poland’s agricultural advantages and well-developed logistics industry to jointly operate the markets in European Union and emerging Asian countries.

　　Poland is a major producer of agricultural and livestock products in Europe.  The two countries’ experiences of agricultural development are in common in many aspects and however may learn from each other, such as the R&D and extension of agricultural technology, the processing of agriproducts as well as agricultural marketing and finance.  Furthermore, under the framework of this memorandum, Taiwan and Poland can also exchange the study visits of personnel, the academic researches, and the industrial cooperation so as to promote sustainable development of agriculture in both parties.

　　The COA further elaborated that Taiwan, through its advanced agricultural technology, has already signed memorandum of understanding with the Netherlands, France, and Hungary and established cooperative partnership with them respectively.  Taiwan will further scheme out an across-the-board layout of linking main agricultural areas in Europe, so as to grip the potential market in it, promote the cooperation between agricultural industries and create win-win situations In the long run.
