2005-12-28
無標題文件The Council of Agriculture (COA) conducted a nationwide duck egg lab test to ease public anxiety over dioxin contamination. Samples included duck eggs from suppliers and preserved eggs, salted duck eggs and other products from the market. All tests have been completed and results showed that the dioxin content in these products is below the 3 pg WHO-TEQ PCDD/F/g fat level established by the European Union (EU), suggesting that duck eggs and poultry meat across the nation are safe for consumption.

According to the COA’s duck egg monitoring plan, 30 samples were collected from duck farms located in areas with high risk of contamination and big numbers of ducks being raised. These areas included 28 counties and townships in Taipei, Taoyuan, Hsinchu, Miaoli, Taichung, Changhua, Nantou, Yunlin, Chiayi, Tainan, Kaohsiung, and Pingtung.

Another test by the Department of Health (DOH) was conducted on 33 samples collected from 15 counties and cities: Ilan County, Taipei County, Taipei City, Taoyuan County, Hsinchu County, Miaoli County, Taichung County, Taichung City, Nantou County, Changhua County, Yunlin County, Chiayi County, Tainan County, Kaohsiung County and Pingtung County. Results showed that dioxin content was also below the 3 pg WHO-TEQ PCDD/F/g fat and <2pg WHO-TEQ PCDD/F/g fat level set by the EU.
