  1. The Agricultural Production and Certification Act was promulgated.
  2. The COA announced that the quota for fishing whale sharks would be reduced to 30 in 2007 from 60 in 2006. And it is prohibited to fish whale sharks that are less than 4 meter in body length, and to catch with the dart fishing method.
  3. The new editions of veterinary certificate for exports of live animals, veterinary certificate for exports of animal products, phytosanitary certificate for exports, and phytosanitary certificate for re-exports became effective.
  4. “The action plan to prevent illegal hunting of wild animals” was drafted.
  5. The Republic of Korea approved the importation of poultry products from Taiwan, effective on January 11, 2007.
  6. The agricultural project loan amounted to NT$45 billion was appropriated to support the need of agricultural financing.
  7. The differential guarantee rates of the agricultural credit guarantee fund were ratified. The potential risks were categorized into three groups. The collateral and the guaranty fee for group A (with 80 percent of guaranty) remain same, whereas the guaranty fees for the other two groups were increased 43 percent and 100 percent, respectively, based on their percentages of guaranty.
