  1. Article 25 and section 1 of article 46 of the Farmers’ Association Act were amended to strengthen the associations’ accountability.
  2. Regulations on the certification of traceability of agri-products, certification agencies, and certification of quality agri-products were announced.
  3. The COA announced the 2007 stabilization fund for fishery products including fish species and stabilizing prices.
  4. Flow charts of Taiwan Good Agricultural Practices were announced for organic production of ponkan orange, leguminous vegetables, non-heading leafy vegetables, spring onion, Chinese leek, mungbean, and longan.
  5. The COA announced that it would set into motion three major certification criteria for the agri-products, namely, traceability agricultural products (TAP), organic traceability agricultural products (OTAP) and quality traceability agricultural products (UTAP).
  6. The COA has taken the center stage in FOOD TAIPEI 2007: Taipei International Food Show with Taiwan Pavilion. The pavilion involved 66 companies for the six themes on the certification system for safe and quality agri-products, and products from crop plants, livestock, fishery, forestry, and food industry.
  7. The downpour in early June has substantially devastated crop production in various regions in Taiwan. To compensate the farmers’ loss, the COA has provided the low-interest loans for the growers of watermelon, melon, cantaloupe, persimmon, and sunflower in Miaoli County, Hsinchu County, and Taoyuan County.
  8. The awards ceremony for the 2007 ten outstanding spring tea products was conducted.
  9. The COA approved the re-establishment of credit departments in farmers’ associations for Xiaokuan District of Kaohsiung City, Yenpu Township of Changhua County, Nanhua Township of Tainan County, and Liaokui Township of Kaohsiung County.
