  1. Due to agricultural disasters sustained by typhoon Sepat and torrential rains, papaya production areas in Kaohsiung County and green onion production areas in Tainan County were compensated with cash relieves, and pear production areas in Taichung County, papaya and watermelon production areas in Tainan County, and papaya, watermelon, melon and cantaloupe production areas with part of cash relieves.
  2. Measures were tightened to prevent violations of the Agricultural Production and Certification Act.
  3. Flow charts of Taiwan Good Agricultural Practices were announced for pitaya (dragon fruit), bamboo shoots, and wolfberry ( Lycium chinense) leaves.
  4. The premier acknowledged 20 companies and other governmental ministries that supported the COA’s efforts to buy up the surplus bananas.
  5. The awards ceremony for the 2007 ten outstanding rice products and Taiwan quality rice exhibition were conducted. The latter attracted over 20,000 visitors.
  6. The COA organized an event to advocate safe agriculture and traceable agri-products to the public during a moon festival in Tamshui, Taipei County.
  7. Taiwan Agricultural Biotechnology Exhibitions 2007 were conducted in Taichung and Kaohsiung.
  8. The COA co-organized the 2007 Taiwan International Invention Show and Technomart with the Ministries of Ministry of Economic affairs, Ministry of Education, Ministry of National Defense, and National Science Council.
