1. Set the five following policy goals: achieving more efficient agriculture through technology, establishing responsible agriculture to ensure a healthy and sustainable environment, enhancing the international relationship and expanding markets abroad, promoting reform and creating prosperous rural villages, and promoting healthy agricultural organizations and increasing benefits to the industry’s workers.

2. Held the National Fishery Industry Meeting.

3. Promulgated the Implementation Guidelines for the COA Promotion of the Commercialization of Industry Technology.

4. Revised Operational Requirements for Agricultural Development Fund Loans to add a section regarding debt clearance.

5. Revised portions of the Operational Guidelines Governing the Registration and Management of Fish Farms Exporting to the EU.

6. The Taipei Zoo was approved as the future home of the giant pandas.

7. Typhoon Feng-Wong caused serious damages to some vegetable growing areas. Following the disaster, the COA distributed 535 tons of vegetables from storage facilities.

8. Approved 574 instances of mango export from 20 suppliers, totaling approximately 858 tons.

9. Promoted measures to reduce acreage devoted to orange orchards and performed clearing operations.

10. A series of promotional activities were held in Beijing to coordinate with the decision to serve Taiwan-grown pineapple, star fruit, guava, and mango to athletes during the Olympics.

11. Led delegations to attend the 4th Regular Session of the Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission’s Scientific Committee and a joint Taiwanese – Japanese tuna industry meeting.
