The COA Helps Agro-exporters Move Forward with Marketing Their Own Brand

In order to assist agro-exporters develop high value-added agro-products and own brand, the COA continues to commission the help of Taiwan Design Center in running the "Agricultural Products for Export Branding Assistance Program". In 2013 there were 10 agro-export firms that benefited from counseling services on the establishment of brand image and how to improve their packaging designs. The results and achievements were shown to the public on March 11th, 2013 at the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park with the theme "10 Flavors of Taiwan". The participating companies and the design team shared in the event the process and the stories of the program as well as future plans. At the same time, a showcase of concrete results yielded by the program was on display at the event as well. Illustration and pictures sketched out each company's brand characteristic. Visitors can also have a look at samples of major packaging design innovations and branding. The event's concept aims to go around Taiwan and propel Taiwan's agro-products to the world.

Branding and marketing of value-added agriculture aim to take a place in the world

The COA explained that high quality is a basic requirement for Taiwan's fine agro-products to be accepted in world markets. Since 2004, the COA has been offering assistance and counseling to a total of 105 agro-exporters in establishing their own brand image and improving their packaging design.

There were 10 companies which benefited from this program in 2013: Hualian Lotus Pork (screen-house pig), Yung Shen Rice Noodles (100% rice noodles), Dongshi Farmer's Association (fresh fruits), Taichung Swine Farmer's Association (certified processed pork), Wufeng Farmer's Association (processed fresh vegetables), Fu Che (healthy prepared food), Wei Jun Food (natural and organic condiments), Hsin Lung Food (Nanfang Ao fresh fish), Ching Chiuan (sweet potato products), and Tziguan Fishermen's Association (processed seafood products). The program introduced branding specialists to review and assess each company's brand characteristics and strategies, then work on brand improvement through creativity, image enhancement, and product quality.

Brand new brand images will be present at the Taipei International Food Show

The COA pointed out that FOOD TAIPEI is the largest of its kind in Taiwan and the most professional international food procurement platform. Every year in June it attracts great numbers of professional buyers from all over the world. In order to help these 10 exporters expand overseas market, the COA will set up the Branding Agriculture Area in Taiwan Pavilion to accommodate the 10 companies that went through a major branding overhaul. This will be a great opportunity for them to test the market's reaction towards their improved brand image.
